Info
Chilito is a hot sauce brand born in California from a 150-year-old family recipe from Sonora, Mexico. Rooted in Mexican culinary tradition and passed down as part of the family’s everyday table, the brand carries a story that spans generations and territories. Chilito comes to life with a unique flavour and a clear purpose: to support shelters and the rescue of stray dogs, allocating part of its profits to help animals in need of a second chance.
What sets the sauce apart is its tomato base, which gives it a thicker texture and a deep, umami-driven flavour profile. It is a balanced, easy-to-use sauce designed for everyday life, ready to accompany any meal, at any time. Versatile and straightforward, Chilito moves away from the excess acidity and vinegar of traditional hot sauces, positioning itself as a flavour complement to any dish.
Estúdio Arnold was responsible for the brand’s visual identity, packaging development, and the creation of its online and offline communication, including art direction and photography. The project is based on intentional decisions: vibrant colors, expressive typography, graphic language that balances irreverence and clarity, and original illustrations centered around the Chilito mascot, a dog inspired by the sauce’s texture and the brand’s mission. The system also includes illustrations of ingredients and different ways of use, one of the core ideas expressed visually in the project. Each decision aims to conveys the spirit of the product: honest, accessible, and full of personality, while reinforcing its origin, purpose, and contemporary presence.
